Eucalyptus 2011 : A very prolific year
In 2010 we were confronted with the Eucalyptus team’s choice of new CEO Marten Mickos and Dell and Canonical’s support for the Eucalyptus project.
Now let’s take a cue from the CEO’s end-of-year greeting on the company’s blog, to report on the great successes that were predictable given Marten’s depth and experience
Marten says 2011 was an exceptional year of change and strong growth. They analyzed the size of the market, the competitors, exceeded expectations in terms of growth of the installed base. He talks about big customers like Puma, Pliga, they have over 180 partners in the world.
With version 3.0 they have worked on High Availability, they have doubled the workforce and have also developed in China, India and Europe
We have invited Eucalyptus management staff to our events a couple of times, but their concentration on the US market and the lack of attention to the Italian market have forced them to give up for now, leaving a glimmer of hope for the future.
Best of luck to a successful team.
Maybe a critique is needed…… The old logo was much better.
